Michael Bennett mum on NFL future; “I don’t have any control over that. It’s all on the Cowboys”

NFL defensive end and Super Bowl champion Michael Bennett spoke with Fanatics View about his brief stint with the Dallas Cowboys, his future in the NFL and the experience of playing in multiple Super Bowls.

Bennett was traded from the New England Patriots back in October to Dallas after Tyrone Crawford was placed on the injured reserved list, and it was somewhat of a homecoming for him. Bennett grew up in Texas, playing his high school football in Houston and attending Texas A&M.

“That experience was great,” Bennett said of returning to play football in Texas. “When you grow up in Texas, everything about football is like Texas is the birthplace. It’s like you go there during high school and the opportunity to play for the Dallas Cowboys is something every kid dreams. You grow up in Texas, you look at the Cowboys, you’re like ‘oh man. Michael Irving. Charles Haley’. All these great guys Then finally, when you walk into the building, it feels so euphoric.”

When asked about the possibility of resigning with them and making a push to the Super Bowl with the new coaching staff led by Mike McCarthy, Bennett replies “I don’t know. I don’t have any control over that. It’s all on the Cowboys.”
